Sweden's northernmost Pep Park

In the far north of Sweden, nestled within the Övertorneå municipality, lies a remarkable playground that embodies the principles of health, inclusivity, and community engagement. This playground, part of the Pep Park initiative, was inaugurated in July 2023 with significant contributions from HAGS. 

The Pep Park concept: Promoting health and activity

Pep Park is an innovative concept developed by Generation Pep, an organisation dedicated to enhancing the health and well-being of children and young people across Sweden. The primary goal of a Pep Park is to create an inclusive and inviting environment that encourages play, movement, and everyday exercise for people of all ages.

• Criteria for Certification: To be certified as a Pep Park, the playground must meet seven stringent criteria set by Generation Pep. These criteria ensure the park promotes physical activity, inclusivity, and accessibility, creating a space where everyone can participate in healthy and fun activities.
• Mission of Generation Pep: Generation Pep works to change the conditions for children and young people, aiming to provide them with the best possible health. The organisation advocates for active and healthy lifestyles, ensuring that every child in Sweden has the opportunity and desire to engage in physical activity.
