HAGS at the World Expo in Shanghai!
On May 1 the World Expo in Shanghai was opened. Just outside of the Swedish pavilion you’ll find the fantastic HAGS Pippi Longstocking house.
 The Expo takes place between May 1 and October 31 2010 and is expected to be the largest expo so far. Almost all countries in the world will attend, developing their relations to China, not least in the commercial field. According to the organizers calculations Expo 2010 will attract 70 million visitors, and of those 95% will be Chinese.
The theme for Expo 2010 is ”Better City, Better Life”, which in a wider sense focus on a strive for better living conditions in the cities. The choice of theme connects to the explosive increase in population taking place in cities all around the world. In 1800 2% lived in cities, in 1950 the number had grown to 29%. In 2000 less than half of the world population lived in cities and according to calculations made by the UN the continuing growth of the city populations will lead to an increase of that figure to 55% in 2010.
At the world Expo in Shanghai Sweden is represented by a number of companies, among those IKEA, Investor, Volvo, Berns Salonger, Korsnäs, Höganäs, Mediatec, Stena and – HAGS from Aneby.
And, as mentioned before, just outside of the Swedish pavilion you’ll find the fantastic HAGS Pippi Longstocking house. Apparently much appreciated by both young and old visitors at the world expo.
